It would be helpful on templates and documents if you could visually tell which fields are required and which are optional. As an end-user it would be helpful to know which fields are optional and which were required. As an admin who works with applications that have 20-60 fields it would be very helpful if I could tell at a glance which fields are required and which where optional. This could be accomplished by a darker shading, a thicker outline or some type of symbol next to the field.
