Ability to type in a date field
It would be a great idea to have an typeable as well as selectable date control where by user can type the date rather then current select a date(s) by clicking.
It is difficult to select lets say 01/01/1985. One has to select right year, followed by month and date.

Agreed! The date should auto default to calendar choice when it's entered correctly. Entering multiple dates on a bulk upload transition for example would be tedious when choosing dates like this.
