Restrict the ability to download uncompleted document [Workaround in comments]

Make unavailable the ability to download the pdf version of INCOMPLETE document for the recipient.
Then, when the document is complete, they can download it.

I'm having my clients sign my training manuals, to limit piracy. If they actually can download the unsigned version, it completely loses its point.

This request has already been made and apparently released (https://pandadoc.uservoice.com/forums/926629-ideas-to-improve-pandadoc/suggestions/39884587-disable-download-print-pdf-option-for-recipient) but it didn't limit ONLY the download of uncompleted documents, which is a very important feature.

    Users should be able to choose send or no send signed pdf when completed separately from turning off download

    So this thread started in 2022 & 4 years on this is still a problem. To add to it neither the chat Ai bot nor the actual staff on the help chat are aware that this is the way it is. I spent over an hour yesterday on the chat being repeatedly told that it was a feature. Complete nonsense.

    This is Critical.

    Our process is completely broken when clients download the document before completion. It makes more than half of PandaDoc a useless tool for us. Once a document is downloaded, it can be shared to whomever with no tracking, not consent for signatures regarding PI issues, and all of our Automations in PandaDoc are rendered useless. Creating a lot of manual work.

    Yes, we would like this as well. Right now our clients can download our proposals and view them that way which doesn't help us track how long they're looking at each page, etc... Defeats the point of having the ability to see how many times a client has opened that document.

    Thank you for your feature request submitted to PandaDoc! We do appreciate it!

    While the feature is not available within the system, we’re happy to provide you with a workaround to potentially achieve the desired workflow. We would suggest you using our integration with Zapier.
    It can allow you to send the PDF of the completed documents to your recipients, once they will be completed in the PandaDoc, even if you turned off the Download option. (Examples in the screenshots attached)

    HI! Agreed with the importance of this feature. This is critical for us to have it. As our clients download incomplete documents and sign them their own way. Which completely breaks our process.

    Could you send me a notification when it will be implemented?

    Agreed on the importance of this feature. Downloading the document before signing breaks the process of electronic signatures.

    The owner of the doc has the ability to download and send offline if required, but the recipient should not have this ability
