Hide "Setup Payment" step when payments are globally disabled
In the new document creation experience, the "Setup Payment" step appears in the workflow for every document — even when payment collection is globally disabled at the workspace level. This forces users to click through an irrelevant step every time they create a document, adding unnecessary friction to their workflow.
Expected behavior:
If payments are disabled globally in workspace settings, the "Setup Payment" step should not appear in the document creation flow at all. It should only be visible when payments are enabled.
Additional context:
Users who previously relied on a streamlined document creation → generate link flow now require at least 5 clicks where fewer were needed before
The current workaround (toggling the payment step off per document) adds more clicks than simply clicking through the step itself, making it counterproductive
This has been raised by multiple customers since the new experience launched
This is particularly impactful for users who never use payment collection and have no reason to interact with this step
Customer impact:
High — affects every document creation for users with payments disabled. Directly impacts daily workflow efficiency and has caused frustration among long-term users who experienced a more streamlined process in the previous editor.
