Auto-update templates/CLIs if the item is updated in Catalog
Auto-update templates/CLIs if the item is updated in Catalog
Hi there, thank you for your feature request submitted to PandaDoc! We do appreciate it!
We're excited to let you know that the feature is available with Content Placeholder via “add automatically” mode. This way, whenever you create a document from a Template, it always takes the latest version of a block from Content Library.
Additionally, with the new product catalog, products in pricing tables and quotes will be updated in templates and Content Library Items as soon as you import the updated catalog with a CSV file as described here.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t solve the problem. If all templates used the same pricing table stored in a content block, then it would work. But we have many different templates because the items in the pricing tables are different on each. There isn’t one content block I could update and have the price changes flow through to all of our templates.
What we need is the ability to set it so any item in your pricing table that were pulled in from the catalogue will AUTOMATICALLY update the price whenever the catalogue item price changes.
So while every pricing table in our templates may be different, there may be several that contain item #1234 POWER CORD. If that item was added from the catalogue at $5.00, and the price later changes in the catalogue to $5.50, then any template that has that item on it should automatically update to $5.50.
That is what we need. Thank you.

.csv upload will update both templates and forms

We may have to find another product if this is not implemented. We cannot possibly have a manual price update on every form when prices change. In construction, material prices change daily!. Can someone at PandaDoc please update this thread and confirm if this is on your roadmap or not. If so, what are the expected roll out dates so that we can make decisions?

Price changes happen at least annually and manually updating templates is a waste of time.
It would be ideal to have a flag on each catalog item to denote whether the item should (default) or should not auto-update all templates where it is used.

Yeah, critical given the number of templates we have! Price increases not only mean updating all the individual catalogue items, but those same items again on every template they are used on - it's very time-consuming!!
We actually need the option choose on a line-by-line basis whether to auto-update that item or not (e.g. we may have custom pricing for specific items that I might not want to change, but all the accessory items should update if those prices change in the catalogue).

I waste so much time manually updating templates that I don't have time to see my kids growing up.

To further clarify - there should be an option to have this be updated, perhaps on the row context menu. Sometimes we would not want it to automatically update.

Items from the product catalog update in the pricing table update automatically

when a catalog item is updated, dynamically update templates (was available in EV1)
They have a lot of catalog items and when they update the products, there is a redundant need to enter templates and refresh to update the catalog.

This is a critical update to PandaDoc in my opinion. We have a content and template library full of pricing tables with hundreds of products from our product catalog. I cannot even understand why the product catalog wouldn't automatically update all of the instances where products are used throughout their interface. Such a basic feature and it's mind-boggling that they have gotten this far without it. Even our former, incredibly out-of-date, software has this feature. This is definitely a hinderance for our roll-out and creates a huge inefficiency as pricing continually changes in our line of work. I sincerely hope that this is something that will be updated ASAP.

My Content Library is full of tables of items i've assembled together from my Catalog. I want to go back and update descriptions/pricing in my catalog. But when I update the catalog, the changes aren't reflected in the tables I've built in my Content Library!
What's the point of the catalog when I have to manually update all my content in two places every time I want to change something?
If I want to update a price of an item in my catalog I have to also comb through dozens of tables in my content library to change all the prices manually!
Please update the software to make catalog items into global objects in the database so that they update everywhere when the source catalog item is updated.

Having 100+ templates to update any time our terms and agreements page needs an update is hours of work. Live content updating would be incredibly useful!

Would be nice if forms/documents will be auto-updated once Catalog items/Content library items are updated

Auto updating SKU in pricing tables in all templates when SKU is updated in the product catalog.

Enable a price list output functionality that shows every item in the catalog and automatically updates when catalog items are changed.

It would be great if you update an item in the catalog and those changes are reflected in any new instance where the pricing tables are used. This way our team can be assured that they are using the most up-to-date pricing for our services without needing to manually update each template.

To have your content managed centrally vs. in all templates separately? Absolutely brilliant!

Link content library items so updates can apply to all templates and documents

If you change a catalog item then it would auto update that item in all templates where its used.
