This is a very important feature, especially because of the ease of use for the quote builder in the interface itself.

This functionality is crucial for the success of our team and being able to collaborate effectively with our clients, especially if their legal teams have redlines! Not having this functionality is a huge miss in my book!

We chose PandaDoc specifically for the flexibility of the new CPQ product released in late 2024. It’s surprising that quotes—a core component of CPQ workflows—are not compatible with the download .docx functionality, which is fundamental to PandaDoc. The explanation that this hasn’t been built into the feature set gives the impression that the feature is incomplete.

Moreover, based on the comments here, it seems this has been a known issue even before CPQ’s release. Like others have mentioned, many of our customers’ legal teams prefer Word exports for redlining. The absence of this functionality creates a significant gap in our CPQ implementation and rollout plans. This may hinder our ability to secure internal buy-in for the new platform, especially when the only explanation we can offer is that “the feature doesn’t work, even though the download button is visible.”

PortPro who is a valued Enterprise customer of PandaDoc would benefit from this feature. This would help streamline their redlining process for their sales and legal team.

This sounds like a bug, not a feature! This is critical for our legal team.

Legal teams are old school and prefer to review documents in Word using redlines. It's critical to accommodate this; otherwise, we end up with messy, manual copy-paste situations.

Many legal teams still prefer to review contracts in .doc/.docx formats. This is critical functionality to be able to generate this via export
