We need exactly what "Guy" commented, too:
"PLEASE, I need to use numbered lists and I can't if they break at every new block. I need to use them for a contract but I also need to add headings and page breaks between sections, so the numbers need to continue down through the document and not restart at 1 again and again. I simply cannot work with the current lists.
At the very least please allow us to choose to start any list at a specific number, instead of always 1, say '7' for a given block of text - that way we can create a sort of manual work around in the meantime...
But, of course, the end goal should be that it works automatically across all blocks, I just figure that is slightly harder to implement (quickly)."

Number listing should have the option to continue from one text block to another

We regularly add additional addendums and other things in the middle of agreements and this would be very valuable.

if the text is too long to fit on one page, allow the auto numbering to continue onto the next page without having to rely on the automatic page break feature, which tends to break a bullet point in the middle of a sentence and looks very unprofessional

I am amazed that they DO NOT have the ability to restart the auto-numbering. We have multiple schedules in docs where numbering needs to start back at 1 and the only way is to manually number everything

Massive imporvement needed to paragraph numbering. Need to be able to change betweeen numbers and letter, need to be able to add headings and paragraphs under a number, need to be able to change the number that a list starts at.

adding a new text block restarts the numbering, make it global for the document instead?

This is a critical function for contracts.

Same request.
"If we have multiple points in a document, we give them a serial number. When we try to continue the serial numbers to the next page, that doesn’t happen. Instead it start’s from 1 again. What can we do to solve this issue".

The Numbered List function is a bit limited when you have to change between A, I, II, B or 1.12 within the same block.
If I wanted to do:a.
I.
II.
b.The number List function wont let you as it resets b to a

Right now, when starting a new text block, the numbering starts over again at 1.

I'd add to this... We have documents with lots of text (ex. legal documents, or statements of work with language for various products) that need to be numbered (outline style) but each of which may or may not be included in any particular document. If we want to keep the content in the content library and add it as needed, we have to manually number it all.
