Extend the expiration time of a document once it has become expired (with an ability to resend it) / unexpire
extend the expiration time of a document once it has become expired
Hi there! We aren’t planning on building this into our feature set at this point in time since it doesn’t fit into our current product roadmap. Please keep upvoting this idea so we can keep considering it every time we work on our roadmap.

Our sales reps unfortunately miss their window to sign the agreement sometimes and it would be a great feature to be able to update the document to allow them to sign without having to edit/re-send to our customer.

Ability for the recipient to click a button, possibly in an email that gets sent to them letting them know the document has expired, where they can request the expired document to be regenerated or reverted back to unexpired. When they click this button the sender would need to get a notification of the request so the document could be resent, with an option to update it before being resent to the recipient.

The current functionality is such a hassle. Our sales cycle is measured in months, but we can only offer a proposal for 30 days. We get requests from customers on a weekly basis to extend the expired proposal.

There needs to be an option to un-expire a document without editing it and losing the signature details. If a client signs, but the counter-signer is unable to access the document before the expiry date, the client's signature is lost. This is an inconvenience to the client, who wonders why their original signature was not accepted. It's a bad look for any business.

Problem: An agreement recipient waits until the day prior to expiration to sign the document. The signing day is a weekend or holiday. The company executive designated to countersign the agreement opens the document on the next business day. The document has expired. The sender must cancel the document, place it in edit mode, extend the expiration date, and reach out to the client to resign the document. The process is an inconvenience for the client, creates a problem for documents that must be signed by a specific date, and may cause the client to rethink and not sign the agreement. The whole process makes the sender look unprofessional.
Issue: Once the document has been signed by either party, Panda Doc will not allow changes to the expiration date.
Recommendation: Allow the sender to extend the expiration date up to the point where the document is deemed "completed." Once the document has been signed by all parties, lock the document. Until that point, allow the sender to extend the expiration date, avoiding this awkward situation.
Comment: I see the first post was January 26, 2021. We are approaching two years. We consider this issue a programming flaw not a feature enhancement. The lock function was not vetted all the way. I think I speak for the 133 upvotes that precedes me that we are asking for urgent consideration for a fix.

Because PandaDoc emails often go to Spam, our customers miss several days in the potential signing window. If others have already signed the document, it's a lot of extra administration to have to recreate a new document, send it back through the same signers, etc. We should be able to extend the expiration date of an existing document.

Is there a way where once a document expires, we can automatically re-send it to the signer?
I see we can set a one day reminder but I was hoping for it to be automatically re-sent.

This one seems like a no brainer, if one signer has already signed it's not changing anything about the document itself if you unexpire it.

unexpire expired documents so that in case the doc has 2 signers, 1 signed and the other hasn't, and the doc is expired, the doc owner should be able to revert the doc back to Viewed/Sent and the 1st signer doesn't have to complete their part of the document anew
