Also where's the option to "disable" expiry? That would've been a great alternative option, as the expiry date could be "hard-coded" into the document with a single line of text for "DDDD MM YYYY" and "TIME".
I guess I'll set a 10 year (3650 day value in your number field) for the expiry window... :S

Forgive the frustration... I don't know what's more demotivating for users of PandaDoc. The fact that its been four-plus years since the initial request, or that it never was included in the first place as part of the software design.
To think that legal, binding document software does not provide its users with an option for a firm expiry time (11:59pm), let alone a date is absurd.
With the pace of software dev in 2024 with AI assists, there is little excuse to not develop this feature.

Not all companies run off of a "30 days sent from quote". Some of us run campaigns that have a strict expiry date.
I got bored and ran a simple GPT query. I wrote a dead-simple JavaScript snippet that would achieve this functionality (minus the database and security and testing components).
"Write a simple function that represents a datepicker element for users to select an expiry date for a document (e-signature). The solution must be robust, and written in JavaScript, HTML. Do not style with CSS."
Can we please get some momentum on this low hanging fruit?

It looks like the expiation time is exactly so many days after the sent time and this just doesn't show in the web interface. Via API I can see the expiration date is a full date/time. This works for what I want, but it would be nice if it was clear and showed fully.
I can see for others where they would need to set it to expire on a certain date and time and not 48 hours after sent.

Feedback from one of our clients(rosice@ceasefireproductions.com):
The verbiage in the reminder email causes confusion. This is a critical fix due to the issues I have had with clients being able to review contracts at the last minute but the expiration reminders and dates that the document will be unavailable are unclear.
Here is an example in realtime:
Proposal expires at 2/18/2024. Just to be specific I add 12:00 AM in front of the document cover next to the expiration variable to at least give a time so they are aware. Your reminder says this in the email:
The document sent by Rosice Batsuli is available for signing until Feb 18, 2024 and will expire thereafter. Please review and sign the document or contact the sender for more information.
----
Do you see the confusion that is caused just by this one email. "Until Feb.18 and will expire thereafter". Your program actually doesn't allow them to get in on Feb 18 so giving a time would be very beneficial or cleaning up the language to say that the document will not be available on the 18th to make it clear. Dealing with an issue right now as we speak due to your language and lack of being able to edit the actually time that the documents will expire. This has also happened in the past with other clients. Please fix this.

this is a critical request. The document expiry selection doesn't at any point show the time of day that the document will expire, and currently defaults to the time of day the document is sent. We want to have our reps able to sign within working hours, and currently it doesn't work to have documents expire at random times of day without warning. The only variables available only show the expiry date so there is no way for our team to track the expiry time to manage this complete oversight from the pandadoc dev team.

Have the ability to view how many hours are left before the document expires.

This is a critical request. An Expiration setting should accommodate both the Expiration Date and Expiration Time. I'm actually quite surprised to find that this wasn't an obvious application. Expiration Dates are set to be executed for multiple reasons. In our case, we want to let our Customers have until midnight/end of day of the Expiration Date to sign an Agreement that has special terms, discounts, etc in order to secure a win for End of Quarter/End of Year. Our Reps would have to stay up until midnight to send these types of Agreements with Expiration Dates in order to ensure that they've given the Customer up to the last second to sign the deal. Not to mention if we're dealing with timezone conflicts. PLEASE CHANGE THE EXPIRATION SETTINGS TO ALLOW THE USER TO SET THE DATE AND THE TIME AND BE CLEAR ON THE TIMEZONE

It just doesn't work for us having documents expire at random times during the day. Templates need to be able to be set to expire at a certain date and time according to the correct time zone.

Make it clear whose timezone the document expiration will occur in, sender or recipient.

This is hugely important - having a document auto expire at 1 pm on Feb. 28th doesn't make any sense when most orgs are focused on bringing in revenue by EOQ. It should always be midnight or let us pick the time!

It would be more useful for us to be able to set the exact time and date that the document expires.

set up the expiration date with the exact time .
You can pick expire the doc in 2 days and choose the time of the day when it expires

I need to be able to set the time of day that a document expires to set expectations with clients.

Agreed! I also have a customer who finds this very frustrating that the document can expire at the beginning of the expiration date and not at the end.

"This is very critical for us. Our document expired in the middle of a very important meeting! Docusign has that feature and our head of sales started to send such documents via Docusign."
