15. Navigation Workflow Issues After Recent PandaDoc Update

    Hi there,

    I would like to share a detailed review of the most recent PandaDoc updates, specifically regarding navigation between folders while editing documents and catalog items.

    After the latest update, I noticed that whenever I close a document I am editing, the system automatically redirects me back to the main folder of the workspace — instead of returning to the exact folder where that document is stored. This behavior significantly disrupts the workflow. If I am editing a document inside a specific folder, it is because I am working on a sequence of files within that same structure. Being sent back to the main directory forces me to repeatedly navigate through multiple layers of folders just to return to the workspace I was already in. This adds unnecessary steps and slows down the entire process.

    The same issue occurs inside the Catalog. I organize my items by folders and subfolders, and when I finish editing a product, instead of remaining in the same folder to continue working on related items, I am again taken back to the start of the Catalog structure. This interrupts the logic of editing grouped items and makes the update workflow considerably more time-consuming.

    I also noticed that the Content Library is now located inside the Templates section. While we are adapting to this new structure, it is not intuitive for our use case. The Content Library is part of the document-building process, not the template-building process, and having to open Templates → then open the Content Library → then navigate again through all subfolders has added multiple extra steps to a workflow that used to be straightforward. Additionally, the same navigation issue happens there: when closing an item, the system sends us back to the top-level folder instead of keeping us inside the folder we were working in.

    For teams like ours, who work with dozens of documents, products, and content items every week, these changes have had a noticeable impact on productivity. Returning to the previous behavior — where the system keeps the user inside the same folder after closing a document, a catalog item, or a content block — would restore efficiency and eliminate unnecessary navigation time.

    Could you please let me know if this behavior is expected or if there is a planned adjustment to bring back the previous folder logic?

19. Fix PandaDoc HubSpot integration to match update HubSpot Object Merge - Jan 2025

    When HubSpot updated merge functionality in Jan 2025 (including Contacts and Companies, refer: https://developers.hubspot.com/changelog/updated-merge-functionality-for-crm-objects-including-contacts-and-companies) it broke the mapping between Contact and Company objects, and their associated PandaDoc documents.

    Problem: When a PandaDoc document is created from a HubSpot Contact or Company, the HubSpot Object ID as added to the PandaDoc document metadata. Under the updated HubSpot object merge, Contacts and Companies are allocated a new Object ID. Therefore, when two HubSpot contact or company records are merged and then viewed in HubSpot, the associated PandaDoc documents for the two merge objects, do not appear on the new object PandaDoc CRM card.

    PandaDoc document metadata cannot be edited, so users are unable to re-link any existing PandaDoc documents to the new HubSpot object created by the merge process.

    Suggested solution: The updated HubSpot merge functionality saves merged object IDs in the hsmergedobject_ids property. If the PandaDoc integration were updated to display all documents on the CRM card where the document metadata HubSpot ID matches the current object ID OR any of the merged object IDs, all associated PandaDoc documents would appear on the CRM card on the new object.

    HubSpot users please upvote this issue so that PandaDoc documents appear on merged Contacts and Companies.

    Use Case: Users are required to generate documents that go through an approval workflow before being sent to customers. However, some users bypass this process by downloading the document immediately after generation and sending it outside of PandaDoc.

    Ideal solution: Introduce an automation or developer-mode feature that disables the download option by default and automatically enables it once the document has been approved.
